On Thursday 4th of September we will be delving deep into the wines of Georgia our Tasting Rooms in 141 Upper Leeson St, D4.
This time we are letting our friend Colm Douglas, from Le Caveau, take the stage and talk you through the selected wines. Le Caveau are one of the most respected and specialist wine importers in Ireland, and only a couple of months ago Colm was in Tiblisi to attend Zero Compromise, a major wine event in the European calender, sourcing yet more gems for Le Caveau's portfolio of Georgian wines.
Georgia, where vines have been cultivated for over 8,000 years, and clay amphorae (qvevri, if you’re fancy) are still used to ferment wines the way the gods intended, has some stunning wines.
Join us as we uncover Georgia’s hard to pronunce indigenous grape varieties—Rkatsiteli, Saperavi, Kisi, and friends. We’ll be pouring a selection of stunning wines that Colm recommends, from the traditional qvevri fermentations to new-wave winemakers.
Come with an open mind, a clean glass, and maybe a pencil to write down some names you'll mispronounce later—but remember forever.
Tickets are limited so get yours before is too late.
