A superb Ribeira del Duero made from Tempranillo, aged in French oak for a year. Bursting with dark fruit and a hint of spice, it’s smooth, rich and well balanced, with blackberry and plum flavours with a gentle touch of spice. This will certainly please Rioja fans.
The winery of Bodegas Arrocal is located in Ribera del Duero in Northern Spain, one of the three major red wine regions in the country along with Rioja (of course) and Priorat. The Tempranillo grape used to make this wine, the Crianza, is an especially aromatic local version known as Tinto Fino, aided by an ideal climate, unique terroir, and two years aging before release. The result is a nose full of black cherries, sweet dark berries, woodsmoke, earthy soil, and a gentle framing of spice. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, with a velvety texture, a superb core of fruit, and a long, ripe, tannic finish. This is lovely, lovely wine and a customer favourite.
