Owned by an Irish couple, Brenda and Lochlann Quinn, since 2001, Chateau de Fieuzal can trace its existence back more than 500 years, to the 16th century. Throughout all of that time its location was recognized as one of the best for grape-growing because of its excellent drainage, owing to the stones in the soil. Now, operating with Hubert de Bouärd of Chateau Angelus to direct winemaking, the winery has established a reputation for being terrific value Bordeaux that beautifully integrates classic French winemaking, Bordeaux terroir, ageability, and modern winemaking technology.
L'Abeille de Fieuzal Blanc, a traditional Bordeaux blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, shows multi-layered aromas and flavours of chamomile and mimosa flowers which evolve into white fruits such as pear, quince and pineapple, finishing with bitter orange and lemon, all underpinned by a backbone of freshness.
