Starting from scratch in Burgundy is tough, but Camille Thiriet and winemaker Matt Chittick have built a six-hectare domaine in just six vintages. They're reviving the lesser-known villages of Corgoloin and Comblanchien, attracting support from industry veterans such as Jeremy Seysses of Domaine Dujac, Nicolas Potel and Bernard Noblet, formerly of Domaine de la Romanee Conti. The wines are marked by purity and freshness, with a focus on delicacy and minimal intervention. Their goal is to produce high-quality, pure, and aromatic wines while showcasing lesser-known terroirs and their own ability to produce superb wines.
The Bourgogne Rouge 'Chagniots' 2023 has a deep color and full-bodied flavors, offering an intense, complex taste experience. On the nose, rich aromas of ripe black fruits mingle with notes of undergrowth and spices, creating a bewitching aromatic bouquet. On the palate, the wine reveals a velvety texture and well-integrated tannins, with a long finish that leaves a lasting impression.
From a parcel located below the Domaine d’Ardhuy in Corgoloin, the 2022 Bourgogne Rouge Les Chaignots offers up aromas of sweet cherries, berries and red fruit compote, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and easy palate that’s pure, lively and charmingly demonstrative."
