This wine is made from 60-year-old vines, planted on the slope and located in Corgoloin.
On the nose this has wild strawberry and crushed violets, a hint of white pepper and forest floor. Taste wise this feels supple and focused, with great tension and just enough grip to give it a serious backbone. The 2023 is bight and focused showcasing Thiriet’s minimalist approach with gentle extraction, no new oak.
“La Montagne” is labeled Côte de Nuits-Villages, but it really drinks like a mini-Nuits-Saint-Georges (without the price tag of the Grand Crus). Structured, aromatic, and expressive.
