A jewel of the Graves wine region, Château Fieuzal’s history dates back four centuries and the estate is now owned by Irishman, Lochlann Quinn, and his wife, Brenda. Throughout all of its existence the estate's location was recognized as one of the best for grape-growing because of its excellent drainage, owing to the stones in the soil. Now, operating with Hubert de Bouärd of Chateau Angelus to direct winemaking, the winery has established a reputation for being terrific value Bordeaux that beautifully integrates classic French winemaking, Bordeaux terroir, ageability, and modern winemaking technology.
Château de Fieuzal has a deep red color and a broad and complex aromatic profile with notes of blackberry, black cherry, and forest berries and some hints of spice and mineral nuances. On the palate, the wine is dense with a well-balanced structure and silky, well-integrated tannins. The long and concentrated finish recalls fruity notes. Perfect with Filet Mignon or a juicy Chateaubriand.
"The succulence of [the 2019] is impressively palpable. It adds black currant fruits to spice, while keeping solid tannins in the background. This fine combination means it will certainly age well." - Wine Enthusiast, 95 Points.
