A red wine from Rioja that doesn't get so much as a lick of oak? Look no further. This is Tempranillo in its pure, unadulterated form, and it is rather wonderful. After the grapes are pressed the wine is kept in stainless steel until malolactic conversion has finished, whereupon it's moved to a concrete tank for four further months of aging, to soften it and enhance its freshness.
On the nose it has an intense fruity aroma but on the palate it's harmonious, well balanced, with soft tannins and acidic lift. Can be served with a light chill.
