A radiant Gevrey-Chambertin from Armand Rousseau’s 2023 vintage — vivid red fruits, floral lift, and that fine mineral thread typical of the Cazetiers site. Silky yet structured, it promises both early pleasure and long-term development. Drink from 2028 onwards, hold for up to 15+ years.
Rousseau’s Gevrey-Chambertin holdings are generous and well-regarded, including several Premier Cru sites. The soils are diverse: gravel, marl, and limestone, good drainage and slope.
Typically mindful, disciplined vineyard work; sorting of fruit to remove any less ripe or damaged berries. Fermentation with partial destemming (depending on cuvée), gentle extraction to preserve finesse. Elevage in oak, often with a percentage of new wood for the more prestigious parcels.
