From Burgenland, Austria, and one of the true masters of low-intervention winemaking, Judith Beck, comes this gorgeous, partially skin-contacted Chardonnay. Think bruised apple, quince, dried flowers, hay. A hint of salinity throughout and a certain minerality too, like licking a (clean) pebble you find in a stream. Refreshing, cleansing acidity, and a persistent, creamy finish you'd expect with a Chardonnay of this quality.
Bambule! Chardonnay is a wine that definitely benefits from some time upon opening, so all the better if you can get it into a decanter or use an aerator.
The Judith Beck winery is a 15 hectare estate in Gols in Austria’s Burgenland. They have been farming biodynamically since 2007. They aim to respect the environment and produce the best quality grapes they can. They use native Austrian varieties and some international grapes like Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc.
