Anthony Barton has lived in Bordeaux for 55 years, but he is no Frenchman. Indeed, he is an Irish country gentleman transplanted to Saint-Julien in the Médoc, where for over 20 years he has owned and run his family's legendary Châteaux Léoville-Barton and its neighbour Langoa-Barton. A winelover through and through, Barton has never had time for the greed that characterises much of the Bordeaux scene, and so his wines have always offered exceptional value.
