Produced by Celler de l’Encastell from the traditional varieties Grenache and Carignan, Marge is complemented with variable amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.
The grapes were sorted from two famous vineyards in Priorat: Mas d'en Ferran and Els Arbres, both of which have the typical sslate soils which give the region its distinctive personality.
The grapes were picked by hand and meticulously selected on arriving at the cellar. Then they were destemmed and macerated with the skins for 15 days. This Crianza red wine was afterwards fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, after which it completed malolactic fermentation.
Well-balanced and textured, this wine from Celler de l'Encastell shows an excellent balance between fruit and oak, which does not suffocate but gently highlights the former. Round tannins, excellent acidity and long finish with a mineral note and hints of garrigue.
