“La Dame de Onze Heures” translating to “Lady of the Eleven Hours” is one of Delhommeau’s premium offerings, and the name references the long harvesting process allowing the grapes to reach their ideal ripeness. Just south of Nantes in the commune of Monnières, the soils are predominantly gabbro and gneiss, producing a unique minerality, unlike much of Muscadet which is dominated by granite.
Pale gold with a light greenish tint, the wines capture the essence of Muscadet perfectly — there’s freshness, minerality and a wonderful saline quality and a playful zestiness from green apples.
