Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca blend from the Douro schist soils, fermented in stainless steel and aged for 22 months in french oak barrels. Old vines (up to 60 years old), hand harvested earlier in the season to preserve natural acidity.
Fruity concentrated red, with elegant aromas of wild forest fruits and spices envolved in well integrated oak, showing complex flavours and concentration. Niepoort is well known for its fresh and restrained aproach to the Douro region, and this is a perfect example of it. Drinking well now but with ageing potential, this is a food versatile.
