The Vacqueras “La Cape” consists of a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah, grown in a mixture of stones and alluvial deposits with a significant clay content at an altitude of 150 metres above sea level.
Manually harvested grapes, de-stemmed and put into tanks so the fermentation starts slowly and spontaneously after about 48 hours. A small part of the wine matures in oak barrels and the other part is matured in tanks.
The wine has a dense ruby purple colour with a medium body, solid and velvety tannins. A good concentration of black currant fruit, sweet kirsch and liquorice notes. A good freshness on the finish from the minerality of this wine.
