Nero d'Avola is the most important red wine grape in Sicily and one of Italy's most important indigenous varieties, while the Mazzei Family is one of the most prestigious producers in Chianti, so this fairly recent project by them (much further south!) was always destined for great things. To that end expect sour cherries, tangerine peel, rosemary flowers, violets and vanilla. This is a vibrant, concetrated red wine that’s all too easy to enjoy.
